Building on the release of teaser single ‘All of Me’ earlier in the year, DRKTMS is back with his vibrant brand of silky, floor-filling electronica with the release of his debut album ‘Bupropion’. With his music reaching hundreds of thousands of listeners worldwide and achieving millions of streams to date, the Swiss-born artist shows no signs of slowing down.
A synth-fuelled aura encapsulates the album’s dynamic vibrance, giving the airways an alluring, groove-laden aura. A sleek, though lo-fi production brings the project to its dazzling heights, holding an infectious danceability alongside an intrinsic vibrance. Laid back in ambient textures, the nine-track sees hazy melodies wrapped in a dream-soaked, almost experimental spirit.
Diving into the project, he shares, “With ‘Bupropion’, I’ve started to record my own vocals for the first time. I was really inspired by artists like ‘The Blaze’ and ‘Paul Kalkbrenner’ and the way that they changed their vocal tones with digital effects. So I was experimenting with a couple of plugins including a Choir-Plugin and “Little Alterboy”, which gave a new tone to my voice which I really liked. I think as a producer, to like your own voice, you kind of have to jump into cold water and just try everything out.”
DRKTMS is a Switzerland-based electronic music artist, pushing the boundaries of deep-house and chill, lo-fi beats. Since starting his creative career remixing tracks on the Majestic Casual YouTube channel, he soon released a collaborative EP with Swiss artist Milesikco, backed by Apple Music as part of their ‘Up Next’ series. Building his career as a solo artist, he gears up for 2025 to unveil his debut album ‘Bupropion’, with a limited vinyl run to cement himself as a fast-rising underground star.
