1.) Mandy! Your new EP is out. How excited are you to finally share these songs with the world?
I’m SO excited! I’ve been working on these songs for a while and keeping them a secret was really hard. Now that they’re out, I just want everyone to dance, sing, and feel something when they hear them.
2.) How does your Latin background show up in your music and style?
It’s in everything! I grew up dancing to Latin music and speaking Spanish with my family. I even have a song with Nacho, he’s a Latin superstar and also from Venezuela like my family, so I feel super honored to work with him. The rhythms, the energy, the colors, it’s all part of who I am.
3.) Which song on the EP feels closest to your heart — and why?
Tears of Joy. I had so many great memories and moments that made me cry happy tears, and I wanted to create a song that reflected that feeling. I’m pretty sure I’ll have so many more tears of joy in my life, so this song is like a little piece of my heart.
4.) Do you write in both Spanish and English? How do you decide which language fits a song?
Yes! I sing in both all the time. Sometimes the song just tells me which one fits better, or sometimes a mix of both, which I love.
5.) What’s a lyric from the EP that you really love?
This lyric from Follow Your Dreams “Believe and you will see.” I love it because it’s simple but powerful. If you believe in yourself, you can make amazing things happen. That’s what the whole EP is about.
6.) Your visuals always stand out — how involved are you in planning the looks and ideas?
I’m super involved! I love picking colors, outfits, and ideas for videos. My mom and I plan everything together, and I always add my own twist. If it doesn’t feel like me, I won’t wear it.
7.) If you could shoot a dream music video for one track, which song would it be and what’s the concept?
Definitely Follow Your Dreams with Nacho. I imagine it starting with me sitting at a table with painting supplies. As the video goes on, I’m creating a piece of art and during Nacho’s verse, the painting starts coming to life and we see that he’s actually inside the artwork. I love the idea of mixing real-life with imagination. It would be super magical, colorful, and tell a clear story that keeps people watching.
8.) What’s been your favorite outfit or styling moment during this EP era?
The visualizer outfits were perfect! They were blue and yellow, and each one reflected something special about each song. Also—they were super comfy, which is important when you’re dancing and having fun. You’ll have to watch the visualizers to really see what I’m talking about!
9.) Do you prefer recording in the studio or performing on stage? What makes it fun?
I love both! Recording is fun because I get to play with my voice and try new things. But performing on stage is the best because I get to see people’s faces and energy and it makes me feel alive.
10.) What’s something people might not know about being an artist at your age?
That it’s a lot of work! People think it’s just dancing and singing, but there’s also practice, interviews, long hours. But I love it, so it’s worth it.
11.) What’s the sweetest message you’ve gotten from a fan since the EP dropped?
One fan wrote, “It’s on repeat, I love it, you’re the best.” That really melted my heart. It makes me so happy to know that someone is listening and loving what I created. Messages like that mean everything to me.
12.) Who are some Latin or global artists you dream of working with?
I have a big list! I’d love to work with KATSEYE, Tate McRae, Billie Eilish, and of course Shakira, she’s a Latin superstar and such a legend. That would be a dream come true.
13.) What are you most excited for next — new videos, live shows, more music?
All of it! I can’t wait to shoot more videos, perform these songs live, and yes I already recorded some new songs.
14.) Where can everyone follow you and stream the new EP?
You can follow me on TikTok @amandycorrente and Youtube and Instagram at @mandycorrente, and stream my EP DREAMS on Spotify, Apple Music, YouTube pretty much everywhere!
