In 2003, her interest was piqued, but it wasn’t until 2006, after binge-watching videos of DJ AM and A-Trak, that she decided to dive into the world of DJing. Driven by a thirst for knowledge, she reached out to pioneering DJs like DJ Revolution, DJ AM, and A-Trak, seeking advice and guidance. This invaluable support helped shape her path as she graduated from the Scratch DJ Academy in South Beach, Miami, that same year. Armed with degrees in Digital Production and Graphic Design, she began making waves with her work for MTV Networks, the Outdoor Channel, and the University of South Florida, as well as earning producer credits for several independent films and shorts.
Hustle Hard
Starline wasted no time in making her mark. Her debut hip-hop mixtape, Expensive Taste: The Mixtape, garnered over 200 downloads in its first week alone. Her tireless work ethic led her to produce numerous mixtapes and collaborate with other artists. Joining the Fleet DJs in 2007 further expanded her opportunities, allowing her to produce monthly mixshows for prominent platforms like Sprint/Nextel Radio and Nokia Radio. Performing at local Tampa venues and exclusive private events, she quickly gained recognition from industry professionals, leading to affiliations with Bad Boy Records and Future Star DJs.
Electronic Music Shift
As the 2010s approached, DJ Starline made a pivotal shift towards electronic dance music (EDM). Her deep passion for the genre drove her to focus on the rave culture, performing at private events, micro music festivals, and on live streaming platforms like Twitch and YouTube. Today, her ‘House of EDM’ mixshow stands out, showcasing a variety of electronic music sub-genres. Syndicated across multiple internet radio stations, this monthly mixshow offers listeners a vibrant platform for music discovery.
