Detroit has a reputation for raising young rappers who can effortlessly translate stories of street life into catchy, melodic rap songs, and Rixh Prez is the latest to grab our attention. The main ingredient that sets him apart from his peers is the natural bounce that sits at the core of his songs. The Eastside Detroit native is being compared to artists such as Big Sean, and the late great Nipsey Hussle, Rixh Prez offers the rare ability to balance meaningful, storytelling lyricism with an endless arsenal of catchy melodies. His sound has morphed into an eclectic and versatile mix over the years.

At the young 16 years of age, Rixh Prez discovered his talent and love for music, and continued to master his craft. “I started to get serious a couple of years ago when I saw how this could really change my life and my family’s lives for the better,” states the rapper. Rixh Prez has proven that he has a variety of styles at his disposal. His songs are guided by an infectious exuberance that make them endlessly catchy. There’s also a degree of depth and soul to his songwriting. He has made an impact with songs that cater to a female demographic such as “Who You Love” and “Dear Darla.” Additionally, he appeals to the hustlers on street anthems like “Champagne Tears” Pt 1 & 2 and “Therapy.” His conversational cadence is poignant and precise. The texture of his smooth raspy voice is a perfect reflection of humble dominance.

Rxch Prez is living proof that when you follow your heart’s direction it leads you to your passion. His music is like a diary. He shares all of his ups and downs and his highs and lows. The versatile wordsmith has developed his talent amidst many obstacles while growing up in Detroit. However, over the years he has beaten the odds and kept the faith. His music has been featured on such premier music outlets as Billboard Hip Hop, HipHopSince1987, IHeartRadio, and much more. Equally important, Rxch Prez was featured in the Indie Grind Spotlight of XXL Magazine in the 2024 Freshman edition. He makes songs for the underdogs and he proudly carries his city of Detroit on his shoulders.  Respect the Grind and join the movement.
