Brooklyn’s summer officially kicked off in spectacular fashion as the Dear Summer Festival transformed the borough into a cultural epicenter of music, creativity, and connection. Held beneath the iconic BQE, this sold-out celebration brought together thousands of fans for an electrifying day-to-night experience that was anything but ordinary. Headlined by hip-hop heavyweight Meek Mill and rising dancehall sensation Valiant, the event delivered more than just a concert—it curated a full-fledged cultural moment that blended music, community, and surprise magic into one unforgettable day.

Surprise Performances & Genre-Bending Energy

True to its reputation for surprise, Dear Summer kept fans on their toes with unannounced appearances by Jim Jones, Rowdy Rebel, Kocky Ka, Bay Swag, and more. These unexpected performances blurred genre lines, creating an immersive journey that bounced between hip-hop heat and Caribbean vibes. With every act, the festival reinforced its commitment to celebrating Black culture and global sounds in all their dynamic forms.

Brand Activations & Brooklyn Flavor

In between high-octane sets, attendees cooled off with signature cocktails and interactive installations thanks to branded activations by Tito’s Handmade Vodka and Jim Beam. From photo-worthy pop-ups to curated chill zones, the experience extended far beyond the stage. Of course, no Brooklyn event is complete without bold flavors, and Dear Summer delivered with a vibrant lineup of local food vendors dishing out community favorites—from jerk chicken and street tacos to vegan bites and sweet treats. Every element of the festival celebrated Brooklyn’s diverse soul and amplified the voices that make it thrive.

A Movement of Black Excellence

At its core, Dear Summer is more than a festival—it’s a movement rooted in Black excellence, HBCU pride, and creative empowerment. Bringing together alumni, artists, entrepreneurs, and innovators, the festival serves as a launchpad for emerging talent while honoring the legacy and future of Black artistry. From the DJs spinning timeless classics to the magnetic crowd energy pulsing beneath the city skyline, Brooklyn was more than just a backdrop—it was a living, breathing part of the experience.

Next Up: Atlanta, DC, And Houston

After setting Brooklyn ablaze, the Dear Summer Festival 2025 Tour is heading south with three major stops on deck are Atlanta — July 19th, Washington, DC — August 16th, and Houston — September 20th. For the A, attendees will take over Guardian Works with performances by hometown legends Lil Scrappy and Young Dro. It’s set to be one of the most talked about events of the summer.
