South Carolina native Daray Dillon, known simply by his artist name Daray, has built his music career on something deeper than ambition—it started as survival.

Music entered his life early, introduced by his father. What began as an escape during childhood grew into something much bigger. By middle school, Daray was already writing, shaping thoughts and feelings into verses. About five years ago, he took it further—stepping into the studio not to chase fame, but to find therapy.

“Now I can’t really live without it,” Daray says.

That dedication has carried him farther than he expected. His music has reached people in places he hasn’t even visited yet, proof that authenticity resonates. Sharing his art and creating freely has been the highlight of his journey so far.

But it hasn’t been without struggle. One of the hardest lessons he’s faced was realizing that support doesn’t always come from the people you expect. “I overcame this from just not caring about others’ perspective on me and also understanding that I’m not entitled to anyone’s support,” he explains. That shift in mindset freed him to keep creating without limits.

Looking forward, Daray is focused on one thing: consistency. “This is the most consistent I’ve been, so I’m really focused on finishing this year out strong and making better quality music.”

For now, fans can dive into his two EPs, Another Place and Veteran, available on all platforms. Both projects showcase his evolving sound and his commitment to turning personal experiences into art that others can feel.
