Los Angeles-based singer-songwriter and producer Collin Keller has unveiled his latest single, “Weed in the Garden,” a bold new entry into what he calls political surf pop. Known for blending the warmth of pop, the grit of rock, and the soulfulness of indie, Keller delivers a track that is as sonically lush as it is lyrically urgent.

The song uses the metaphor of an invasive weed to explore themes of resilience and resistance. While corruption and greed are at its crosshairs, the track never loses its sense of optimism. Keller sings not only of what must be confronted, but also of what can be preserved — hope, conviction, and the refusal to fade.

Musically, “Weed in the Garden” glows with surf-inspired guitar textures, indie rock depth, and soulful flourishes. It recalls John Mayer’s Born and Raised era while carrying the intensity of Jack Garratt and Jesse Welles. With Keller serving as songwriter, producer, mix engineer, and guitarist, the single is a fully realized vision of his artistry.

The release marks the beginning of an ambitious rollout strategy: alternate versions will appear weekly, from stripped-down instrumentals to reimagined edits. In an industry focused on instant hits, Keller’s approach underscores the lasting relevance of protest music — evolving, adapting, and rooting itself deeper with every listen.
