CLFX: Twenty Years Loud

For CLFX, the story does not begin in a studio. It begins across two decades of shared stages, long drives, and the kind of friendship that only forms through time and repetition. Each member comes from different bands within the local Denver music scene, musicians who have crossed paths and shared stages over the years before finally coming together to collaborate on these songs. When the group reunited at Green Door Studios, it was not about chasing a moment. It was about reconnecting with something that had always been there—a room full of musicians who already understood each other without needing to explain it.

That history shaped everything that followed. What started as loose ideas quickly turned into fully formed songs, built on instinct and trust. There was no need to force direction or overthink structure. Each member stepped in naturally, knowing when to push and when to hold back. That kind of chemistry cannot be manufactured. It comes from years of playing together in different projects, learning each other’s rhythm from stages across the Denver scene.

The result is “Take Your Time” and “Until It Doesn’t,” two tracks that capture the raw energy of that room. Driven by fast-paced drums, sharp guitar work, and melodic hooks that stay with you, both songs lean into a punk foundation with a strong sense of melody. The vocals cut through with urgency while still leaving space for harmonies that give the sound its lift. It is direct, loud, and built to be felt as much as heard.

Behind the sessions was producer Felipe Patino, who handled the recording, mixing, and mastering with a clear focus on preserving that live energy. Instead of polishing the edges too clean, the production keeps the grit intact. You can hear the push and pull between instruments, the small imperfections that make the performances feel human and immediate.

What makes CLFX stand out is not just the sound, but the connection behind it. These are musicians who trust each other enough to take risks, to experiment, and to let the music evolve naturally. That trust translates into songs that feel alive, carrying the weight of shared experience without losing their sense of fun.

With more music already in the works and additional collaborators expected to join future sessions, CLFX is building on a foundation that has been years in the making. This is not a reunion chasing nostalgia. It is a continuation of something that never really left. And if these first releases are any indication, the next chapter will only get louder.
