Both Cj the Prince and Ohjay know that they are only going up in the rap game, so why not team up together to make dreams come true for everyone? The two MCs have recently teamed up (again) to create “twenty1twelve,” a track that captures both of their emotions in a raw, honest way not heard on most other tracks with multiple artists.
The second installment in their work together, “twenty1twelve” follows the two artists’ previous collaboration “Magnum Opus” and continues right where they left off.
“The main inspiration behind this song release would come from some of the lost relationships [we have both] endured within [our] personal lives, along with the revelation that loss isn’t necessarily bad if the things cut out were hurting you to begin with,” both Cj the Prince and Ohjay said.
“We’ve all somewhat experienced a feeling of abandonment and what it’s like to stare that abandonment in the face in order to understand what happened and reconcile with your losses instead of constantly running or living in the past,” they continued.
The two creators seek sonic inspiration from different sources; some of Ohjay’s influences include Danny Brown, El-P, MF DOOM, Al Green and Trent Razor.
Cj has inspirations that are just as diverse: Kendrick Lamar, Anderson .Paak, Rome Streetz, MIKE and Kenny Mason, to name a few.
So, what’s next for these two rising rap stars? Well, they are moving up in the world together with a collaborative project in addition to their respective solo EPs. Both are working on new music diligently every day in order to grow their fanbases, and with the natural ease that Cj the Prince and Ohjay bring to the table, it’s only a matter of time before they truly blow.
