Bruno Mars Secures His Second No. 1 album with "The Romantic"

Bruno Mars opens this week’s Billboard 200 at No. 1 with The Romantic, marking his first studio album release in over a decade.

The album earns a total of 186,000 equivalent album units in its first week, including 93,500 in pure album sales, 90,500 in streaming equivalent album units (driven by 93.95 million on-demand streams of its tracks), and 2,000 in track equivalent album units. This achievement gives Mars his second No. 1 album, following Unorthodox Jukebox (2013), and represents his fifth overall top 10 entry, counting An Evening With Silk Sonic (with Anderson .Paak), 24K Magic, Unorthodox Jukebox, and Doo-Wops & Hooligans. The nearly 13-year gap between chart-toppers is the longest for any living male solo artist since Paul McCartney’s 36-year interval in 2018.

Other notable entries in this week’s top 10 include Gorillaz, who debut at No. 7 with The Mountain. The group moves 53,000 equivalent album units, including 38,000 in album sales, 15,000 SEA units (15.86 million on-demand streams), and the remainder in TEA units. BLACKPINK enters at No. 8 with their mini-album DEADLINE, totaling 52,000 equivalent album units, including 41,000 in album sales and 11,000 in streaming units (11.46 million on-demand streams). Mitski rounds out the new entries at No. 10 with Nothing’s About To Happen to Me, logging nearly 43,000 equivalent album units, of which 31,000 are album sales and 12,000 SEA units.

Meanwhile, the remainder of the top 10 is led by Bad Bunny at No. 2, Morgan Wallen at No. 3, Don Toliver at No. 4, and Olivia Dean at No. 5. Completing the top 10 are Megan Moroney at No. 6 and Taylor Swift at No. 9.
