bLAck pARty Unveils Highly Anticipated New Album "The Last Dance"

Los Angeles, CA (July 22, 2025) — One of the most distinctive and genre-defying voices in modern music, bLAck pARty has officially released his highly anticipated new album, The Last Dance, now available worldwide on all digital streaming platforms. Listen HERE.

A multi-talented artist, producer, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, and DJ, bLAck pARty (born Malik Flint) has spent the last several years quietly carving his own lane. Now, with The Last Dance, he arrives with a powerful body of work that’s as emotional as it is experimental—an album that boldly soundtracks the highs and lows of heartbreak while offering a vibrant sonic escape across 10 intricately crafted tracks.

From the very first note, The Last Dance plunges listeners into the emotional core of a breakup, unfolding like a visual diary in motion. Each song feels like a snapshot in time, rich with feeling, texture, and storytelling. The experience is further amplified by a series of striking cinematic visuals directed by The Reggies—known for their work with Dillon Francis, Yung Gravy, Zac Brown, and JT. These visuals are not only a feast for the eyes but also offer a unique narrative arc starring viral comedy sensations Jordan Rock and Jordan “The Stallion” Howlett, bringing humor and vulnerability to the screen. Watch the story unfold HERE.

A central standout from the album is the hypnotic and deeply personal track “Sober”, co-written with his parents and produced by Anoop D’souza (whose credits include SYD, Sailorr, and Destin Conrad). The song blends dreamy synths with sultry saxophone, capturing the dizzying haze of an instant romantic connection. bLAck pARty floats through a dreamlike landscape of emotion as he sings, “Darling I know we just met,” pulling listeners into the surreal, heady rush of falling for someone new. Watch the visualizer HERE.

The sonic diversity of the album is on full display with tracks like:

  • “Lights” – a lively, dancehall-inspired groove anchored by catchy percussion and bLAck pARty’s smooth melodic delivery. The chorus—“Baby turn the lights down low”—is instantly infectious.
  • “Tonight” – a funk-soaked jam full of bright hi-hats and a bassline that carries listeners straight to the dance floor, building into an explosive, skyscraper-sized hook.
  • “Moonlight” – an introspective, jazz-leaning track that explores themes of existential love. With its layered instrumentation and poetic lyricism, it serves as one of the album’s most contemplative moments.

Before dropping the full album, bLAck pARty teased the project with the breezy and rhythm-driven “Hola Mami”, which gained early traction across streaming services and appeared on key Spotify playlists including R&B Weekly, This Is Frequency, and more. These early reactions hinted at what would become one of his most sonically rich and emotionally resonant releases to date.

Earlier in 2025, bLAck pARty began to capture wider attention with the back-to-back releases of “Distant Lover” and its follow-up “Distant Lover Pt. II,” both of which resonated deeply with listeners and have since amassed over one million plays across streaming platforms. Critics quickly took notice:

  • WONDERLAND described him as “an innovative artist blending psychedelia, funk, R&B, reggae, soul, gospel, rock, and country.”
  • NOTION applauded his sonic direction, calling it “lush, psychedelic, and unmistakably his.”
  • Earmilk labeled the track a “vibrant new banger,” stating confidently that “bLAck pARty is further making a name for himself.”

Following the release of The Last Dance, bLAck pARty is taking his new music directly to fans with his “Late To The Party” North American headline tour. The tour, which launched earlier this summer, is hitting major cities across the U.S. and Canada and includes performances at some of the biggest festivals of the year, including Wonderfront, Governors Ball, and Lollapalooza.

Behind the music is a compelling backstory: bLAck pARty, originally from Arkansas and now based in Los Angeles, began his career producing for longtime collaborator Kari Faux. His talent quickly garnered attention in the entertainment world, leading to multiple music placements on Issa Rae’s award-winning HBO series Insecure. His production work also extends to major projects like Childish Gambino’s critically acclaimed Awaken, My Love! and the groundbreaking FX series Atlanta.

Through albums like Mango (2016), Endless Summer (2019), and Hummingbird (2022), bLAck pARty has earned accolades from outlets like GQ, Pitchfork, OnesToWatch, and OkayPlayer. With The Last Dance, he continues that trajectory, blending vulnerability and craftsmanship into a project that’s both deeply personal and universally resonant.

In a time where genre boundaries are dissolving and emotional honesty is more important than ever, bLAck pARty has created an album that feels timeless, fresh, and cathartic all at once. The Last Dance isn’t just a breakup album—it’s a fully realized sonic experience that proves, once again, that bLAck pARty is in a league of his own.
