Bethany Rae didn’t set out to become an artist—her prayers just began to take the form of songs. Her earliest songs were quiet, sacred reflections, written not for performance but for personal connection. That changed with Captivated, the title track of her debut album. “I realized these weren’t just for me,” she reflects. The moment became a catalyst, turning personal worship into public purpose. Through Worship Through Song, Rae now aims to bridge the spiritual and the everyday with music that’s as intentional as it is intimate.

Her sound, lovingly dubbed “Rhythm & Soul,” draws from a rich musical palette: the warmth of ’70s soul, the pulse of Motown, and textures pulled from around the globe. A B3 organ hums beneath bold brass, while the haunting wail of a duduk threads through Grace. In Cut Me Loose, the clanking of logging chains—recorded in a parking lot—adds grit to gospel. “We give each song its own personality,” Rae explains. While comparisons to Lauren Daigle surface often, there’s something deeper—a Nina Simone gravity—in her delivery: unwavering, soulful, unshaken.

Like many independent artists, Rae wrestles with visibility despite streaming in over 100 countries. She launched her own label, experimented with playlisting, and watched songs like Plumb Line and Ebenezer find niche followings. Still, she faces an uphill climb. “The challenge is humbling,” she admits. Yet what keeps her grounded isn’t charts or algorithms—it’s the quiet messages from listeners who’ve made her songs part of their daily worship. “That’s success to me,” she says. “When the music becomes someone else’s prayer.”

Now, Rae is stepping into a new season. This August, she’ll preview a 2026 Worship Weekend with a live performance and co-production role. Meanwhile, her latest music video for Let Freedom Ring invites fans to be part of the creative journey—submitting reflections, behind-the-scenes footage, and artwork. For Rae, it’s a natural extension of her values. “Music is communal,” she says. “We achieve this mission together.”

Her compass remains clear: walk through the doors God opens. Whether those doors lead to festival stages, video shoots, or new collaborations, Rae’s purpose doesn’t waver. “The message belongs to Him,” she says with conviction. “My goal is that those who listen will hear God’s voice calling their hearts to worship Him.”
