For those who don’t know, what exactly is 4030LMG?

Chris Mays: 4030LMG is a hip hop, non-perfect spiritual movement. It’s me, Chris Mays, and my beat maker Nick Fowler, also known as Blanco30. We’re not about fitting into a box — we’re about creating freely and showing that nothing is impossible if you really put your mind to it.

Chris, you’ve been in the industry for a while but are now making your comeback. What inspired that?

Chris Mays: Honestly, life. After a breakup with my ex of four years, I realized how quickly people can change on you. That pushed me back into music seriously. I want people to know — no matter your age or where you are — you can still pursue your talent.

How did you and Nick (Blanco30) link up?

Chris Mays: We met through a rehab facility. He had his style, I had mine, and we just clicked. From there, 4030 was born. Nick is from Kansas, I’m from Richmond, Indiana, but we both have that Midwest vibe naturally.

Your new project 4030 Theory just dropped. What’s the message behind it?

Chris Mays: The message is simple — there are no limits. I don’t have one set style. I adapt to whatever vibe my energy pulls me into. With 4030 Theory, I wanted people to see my creative side and feel the beauty in what we do.

The 4030 logo is a trashcan — why that choice?

Chris Mays: A trashcan doesn’t mean “trash.” It means no matter what anyone thinks, we can make it look beautiful. I don’t care about judgment — if someone’s too busy judging, they’re missing the beauty inside.

What can fans expect next from 4030LMG?

Chris Mays: We’ve got multiple projects lined up, ready to release. Nick is a genius at creating vibes in the moment, and together we’re going to keep building. LiferzMuzikGroup is going to show the world just that.

Any message for people discovering your music?

Chris Mays: If you’re into music that has a different taste and raw energy, check us out. There’s no limit to creativity, and we’re proof of that.
