On August 3rd, the Knockdown Center in Queens was transformed into a buzzing hub of sound, culture, and connection as Angie Martinez hosted the 2025 edition of her annual Angie’s Summer BBQ. The event drew a diverse crowd and once again proved that the beloved radio icon knows how to curate more than just a playlist—she can create an entire experience.

The 4 hour affair served up more than just live entertainment. It offered guests a full sensory experience—from bold flavors to vibrant visuals. Catering was provided by A Mother’s Touch Bistro & Catering, offering a spread of Southern and Caribbean dishes that celebrated both comfort and culture. Meanwhile, Roscato Wine offered samples and a vintage-inspired photo activation, where attendees could pose in a retro living room set complete with wine in hand—a nod to classic hospitality.

The musical programming covered a wide range of genres and generations. Hip hop veterans and rising stars alike took the stage, including Jim Jones, Trey Songz, Lola Brooke, Maiya the Don, Bay Swag featuring Cash Cobain, Moliy, Honey Bxby, Zeddy Will, and magician Elliot Zimet, whose performance added a theatrical twist to the day.

Each act delivered high-energy sets that kept the crowd engaged, from nostalgic singalongs to modern-day bangers. The mix of artistry reflected the city itself—bold, diverse, and ever-evolving.

Of course, no summer BBQ is complete without the DJs. Angie tapped into New York’s strongest talent pool on Power 105.1 with sets by DJ Nyla Symone, DJ Will, DJ Noire, DJ Suss One, DJ Spinking, and DJ Self. Their rotations kept the pace lively and fluid, bridging generations of music and connecting the audience through sound.

A robust list of sponsors helped bring Angie’s Summer BBQ to life, including:

MetroPlus Health, Lincoln Tech, LaGuardia College, The United States Air Force, Girls Love Karaoke, Roscato Wine, Planet Brooklyn, Sun Cruiser, Wicked on Broadway, and legal sponsor Michael “The Bull” Lamonsoff. Each activation added value for attendees—from giveaways to interactive experiences—enhancing the event’s community-forward atmosphere.

More than just a party, Angie’s Summer BBQ has become a staple of New York’s cultural calendar. It speaks to the enduring influence of Angie Martinez—not only as a media personality but as a cultural connector. Her ability to gather talent, brands, and community under one roof is a reflection of her legacy: rooted in radio, but reaching far beyond.
