Following on from her striking debut “In The City,” rising star Angelane is back with a new heartwarming offering entitled “Nobody Wants To Know.” A stripped-back track, the single features a powerful piano and vocal combination. Angelane’s vocal lines are sure to immerse the listener, with an impactful and emotional tone that spans dynamic ranges. Angelane is passionate about placing humanitarian issues in her music.
Speaking about the track, she says: “Nobody Wants To Know is one of those songs that chose me to write it, because this idea was never in mind. The lyrics touched my heart as I wrote the song, the words became the idea and the lyrics flowed from a heart of concern about the state of our planet. Earth is alive and I believe this song is an urgent cry for help to save our planet. ”
Hailing from Jamaica but residing in Kent, Angelane has been surrounded by music for as long as she can remember. She actually started out by singing in Church after being encouraged by her mother. This led to her landing a place in a Church band and then joining the choir – only fueling her dream of performing her own songs. These experiences were instrumental for her music career, and Angelane’s live performance skills have been lauded by fans and tastemakers alike. Angelane has received some fantastic accolades. She was honoured to have been invited to perform at one of Diana’s (Princess of Wales’s) charities in London during the Princess’s visit. More recently Angelane was invited to perform at a local World Music Festival in Kent.
Growing up, she would hear her older brother’s favourite jazz, R&B, Reggae and soul records being played at home, which has since informed her sound. Angelane’s passion for poetry has developed over the years, and transformed itself into songwriting which she channels into her music also. Her musical passions could be found on her first contemporary gospel album “Gerbera Nights” (released in 2013), which was an album for the church community. Since then, Angelane’s music releases have expanded, and she’s managed to gather a loyal fanbase from many different communities, as well as support from the music industry. With some impressive projects in the pipeline, we cannot wait to see where she’ll take this.
