Anamaria Ferentz’s “Dance4Me“: A Journey of Empowerment and Global Rhythms

Anamaria Ferentz’s latest album, ‘Dance4Me,’ is a vibrant explosion of pop dance infused with reggae and Latin influences, born from a deeply personal journey of self-discovery. Sparked by her fiancé’s belief in her talent, Ferentz re-entered the studio, allowing a surge of pent-up creativity to define the album’s energetic sound.

Ferentz emphasizes that her music flows organically, shaped by immediate emotions rather than predefined genres. The title track, “ Dance4Me,” is a powerful anthem of empowerment, urging listeners to embrace their authentic selves despite societal pressures. Her collaboration with reggae legend Beenie Man on “The Reggae Song” further elevates the album’s dynamic range. With recording locations spanning Los Angeles and Punta Cana, Ferentz’s adventurous spirit and Romanian roots subtly intertwine with her global musical perspective, creating an uplifting and universally appealing sound designed to make everyone move.

Q: Anamaria, congratulations on ‘Dance4Me‘! What was the initial spark or inspiration that set this album in motion?

AF: The very first spark came from my fiancé. He believed in me — in my voice, my talent, and my message — and encouraged me to return to the studio, even though I was incredibly busy with family responsibilities at the time. His support reignited something in me. As soon as I stepped into the studio, it was like everything I had kept inside for so long just burst out. All the creativity, all the emotion — it exploded into what became Dance4Me. That moment set the entire album in motion.

Q: The album is described as an energetic blend of pop dance with reggae and Latin influences. How did you arrive at this particular sonic fusion?

AF: Honestly, I never walk into the studio with a specific genre in mind — I don’t say, “Today I’m going to make a Latin song” or “This one will be reggae.” The sounds and styles just happen naturally, based on what I’m feeling in the moment. My producer, Danny Hajj, would often bring in an idea or a track, and from there, the words and melodies just flowed through me. Every song came from a very honest place — created in real time, from deep within me.

Q: The title track, ‘Dance4Me,’ carries a message of empowerment and self-belief. Can you elaborate on the personal significance of this message for you?

AF: Absolutely. Dance4Me is a song that carries a powerful message of empowerment because it reflects something I’ve experienced many times — the pressure to be someone you’re not, or the fear of being vulnerable in front of others. I’ve felt that. But there comes a moment when you realize you just have to push past the fear, stop worrying about what others think, and step fully into who you are. That’s where the real beauty is. The world becomes more authentic and more accepting when we dare to be ourselves. That’s what this song is all about — and honestly, it represents me completely.

Q: What did Beenie Man bring to ‘The Reggae Song’ that elevated the track?

AF: I’m incredibly honored to have worked with Beenie Man. He’s a legendary talent with an amazing career, and collaborating with someone like him truly feels like a dream come true. Every time I get to share the stage or a song with another artist, it’s a huge honor — and Beenie absolutely elevated this track with his energy, charisma, and unmistakable voice. The Reggae Song is full of life — it’s vibrant, hot, and full of rhythm, just like I love my reggae! I genuinely hope all of his fans, all of my fans, and even people who may not know us yet, will listen to this song, dance to it, and just feel amazing.

Q: You’ve called this a deeply personal project. What made you feel ready to share these more intimate emotions through your music now?

AF: I’ve always written and sung from my heart, but this time, I’ve grown and developed so much as a person. I feel more ready than ever to be truly myself and to share my life, my experiences, and the emotions I’ve been through. Of course, I always want people to feel good, to dance, smile, and love through my music — so I tend to share the best parts. The deeper pain and struggles may not be fully present yet, but perhaps that’s for another chapter. Right now, I just want to give people something uplifting, something real.

Q: Recording took place in diverse locations like Los Angeles and Punta Cana. How did these different environments influence the creative process and the overall feel of the album?

AF: Honestly, no matter where I was — LA, Punta Cana, or anywhere else — I felt so happy and inspired. The energy in each studio was different, but always uplifting. I’m a traveler, an adventurer, and working with talented people in these amazing places brought me joy and creativity. What really influenced me most were the people I collaborated with — their energy and ideas made the experience unforgettable.

Q: How do your Romanian roots and cultural background subtly (or perhaps overtly) weave their way into your music, even within a pop dance framework?

AF: My roots absolutely influence everything I do. My background shapes the way I write, sing, and express myself. But inside of me, there’s also this international spirit — I create music that feels relatable whether you’re in Nigeria, Canada, Australia, or South Korea. I love that about my style. My music is joyful, fun, and full of energy — and pop dance is so universal. Even people who don’t dance will end up nodding their heads!

Q: Can you recall a specific early musical experience in Romania that significantly impacted your decision to pursue music?

AF: Music has been a part of me since before I could even speak. I was moving, dancing, reacting to music as a baby. So for me, it wasn’t one specific moment — it was just who I was from the very beginning. I was born to sing.

Q: How has your experience of moving to America influenced your musical perspective and the stories you want to tell through your songs?

AF: Moving to America gave me a broader international perspective. I connected more deeply with Latin culture and music here, which I absolutely love — it’s full of passion and rhythm, just like me. And of course, American music and all the diverse styles I was exposed to helped shape my sound. I’ve always loved to learn, to be inspired by different genres, and to blend what gives me joy into the music I create.

Q: Are there any other artists, past or present, that you dream of collaborating with in the future, and why?

AF: Oh yes — I’d love to collaborate with so many artists! I think singers and musicians have some of the most beautiful souls — they bring so much feeling and joy to the world. Of course, it would be an incredible challenge and dream to work with artists like Eminem, Bruno Mars, Marc Anthony, Michael Bublé, Josh Groban, Lady Gaga, Shakira, and of course, Celine Dion. So many genres and styles inspire me — and just having the opportunity to sing and create is already an honor.
