In a small college town in Georgia — Athens, to be exact — a rising artist named AmiCosmic is carving out a lane that doesn’t quite fit into one box. And that’s exactly the point.
“I guess you could call me a producer of sorts,” he says, humbly. “I’m still learning and getting better as I go.” That mindset — curious, committed, and open — defines AmiCosmic’s journey so far. It’s not about chasing trends or mimicking what’s hot. It’s about making music that feels true and hoping it connects.
Drawing from a wide net of influences — rock, R&B, hip hop, trap, pop — his sound doesn’t sit still. “If you’re like me and you like nearly everything, I’m your guy,” he says. His mission? To be the opposite of the industry mold, where artists often feel forced to stick to one sound to be marketable. AmiCosmic isn’t trying to be the next anyone. He just wants to make good music and share it with people who might need it.
But this isn’t just some passion project he fits in between Netflix binges. He’s balancing a full plate: active duty military, two jobs, college classes — and still finds time to make music. “I joined the military at 19. I’m still serving, and for the most part, happily,” he says with a laugh. “I also taught myself to play guitar. I was always doubted, so I’m super proud of that.”
With all that on his shoulders, the real challenge isn’t creativity — it’s capacity. “Doing all of this on my own is a lot,” he admits. “I get why artists have teams and mentors. I used to think the hardest part would be making music people like, but it’s deeper. You need visibility. You need reach. You need to even be findable in this sea of musicians.”
Still, he keeps pushing. His first official release, Let Me Know, just dropped on all platforms. A chill, trap-influenced track perfect for night drives or freestyle sessions with friends, it sets the tone for what’s coming. He’s planning an 8-track EP this summer — just one more song to finish before the mix and master phase.
Long-term, AmiCosmic hopes to build a community around his music, maybe even find some bandmates and play live shows. Nothing crazy. Just something real. “I want to bring people together through my music,” he says. “If it goes further than that, I’m down for wherever it takes me.”
You can find him everywhere under AmiCosmic — Spotify, Apple Music, YouTube, SoundCloud, TikTok — or follow along on Instagram at @qcos10.
The grind is real. The hustle is honest. And the sound? That’s still evolving — just like the artist himself.
