Liverpool-based rising star Addley has announced his latest single ‘Blue & Gold’, the final monumental slice of indie pop ahead of his forthcoming debut EP We Can Talk For Hours. The track comes after previous teasers ‘Say It Anyway’ and ‘Take Me Home’ allured the press attention with dazzling blends of atmospheric electronica and alt-rock fire.
‘Blue & Gold’ is one of Addley’s most energetic anthems yet, bringing sparkling synths and kaleidoscopic guitar tones to the heartfelt lyricism he’s praised for. Powerful, punchy kicks and snare cracks play alongside an onward pushing bass groove, keeping the octane high even when delicate piano melodies shimmer through the soundscape. These moments of melancholic self-reflection explode into love-drenched, lively choruses, the vocals shooting into the stratosphere with no intention of coming back to earth.
Addley explains this release, adding, “’Blue and Gold’ is a song about being unable to resist a person you should stay away from. It’s about my relationships as a gay man on dancefloors and beyond, having fun and regretting it after… until doing it all again.”
Taking his surname as an artistic moniker, Sam Addley brings both emotion and energy to the stage. Converting his synth-drenched, electrifying sound to a five-piece live act, recently appearing in his home city, as well as London, Birmingham and Guildford music festival GuilFest.
Addley brings songwriting influences by Florence + The Machine, London Grammar & Sam Fender to a fierce sonic tapestry with a distinctly alternative sound that focuses on dark desires, rose-tinted melancholy, and joyful party moments.
