Phoenyx Shines on Pop-tinged R&B Belter ‘Main One’

“‘Main One’ captures the feeling of trying to fill the emptiness with distractions or other people” – Phoenyx

Making waves for the first time since ‘Confession’, released toward the back end of last year, Phoenyx is back with his latest anthem, ‘Main One’. A striking release, brimming with emotion, the single follows the artists’ journey in a relationship, with conflicting thoughts to either stay or leave.

Atmospheric synth waves fill the single with a cinematic depth, giving Phoenyx room to manoeuvre with his slick pop-tinted melodies. ‘Main One’ shines with a vivid, euphoric weight, lending itself to the almost nostalgic pull of contemporary game changers whilst carving out a sound that feels effortlessly unique and refreshing. Adding to the depth of his artistry, the London-based creative utilises his abilities as a natural dancer to add detail to his sonic productions. Crossing the floor between pop and R&B, Phoenyx looks to push through as a rising star in 2026.

“Main One is about being torn between moving on and still being emotionally tied to someone who hurt me. It captures the feeling of trying to fill the emptiness with distractions or other people, but nothing replaces the connection I had with her. Even though she lied and I told myself I was done, I’m still drawn back to her – still craving the comfort of her touch and the clarity she never gave me. It’s a confession of vulnerability: admitting I shouldn’t still care, but I do, and I’m stuck in that cycle of longing, denial, and emotional attachment.”

About the Artist:

Pheonyx is a London-based pop and R&B artist and natural dancer, whose work is shaped by instinct, self-belief, and lived experience. Entirely self-taught, he approaches music with a natural confidence, blending emotive vocals with a strong sense of movement. Since making his debut in 2025 with ‘I Like It Like That’, the artist has moved from strength to strength, turning heads in the process. His sound leans toward vulnerable, moody pop with a darker rhythmic edge, balancing emotional weight with rhythms built to move to. Michael Jackson’s influence runs deep in his approach to craft, not through imitation, but through discipline, creative focus, and an all-in mindset. That influence has pushed him to keep developing independently and with purpose, crafting a detailed world that feels quintessentially Phoenyx.
