Hollywood Real Thoughts’ musical journey began in the quiet corners of a big bushland property deep in the heart of central Victoria, Australia in a childhood home, where jazz, classical piano, and synths alike pulsed through the speakers, courtesy of a father with deep musical roots. At just six years old, music really began for him when he picked up his first instrument. First on the piano—then guitar, drums and eventually the bass.
Music wasn’t just a hobby—it was oxygen. That early immersion in melody and texture would evolve into a career that now straddles the cerebral and the cinematic, making Hollywood Real Thoughts one of the most compelling producers to watch.
The sound is a genre-melting fusion—post punk meets vaporwave meets liquid bass—all threaded with both melancholia and motion. “I’m a very melancholic person,” he admits, and it shows. Hollywood Real Thought’s music feels like scanning old photos through a cracked digital lens—achingly nostalgic yet somehow futuristic. Drawing inspiration from artists like Teebs and LA’s leftfield underground, he masterfully blends dreamlike textures with propulsive beats. The upcoming album, Human Experiments, dives deeper into this sonic world—fusing techno-dystopia with bursts of rhythm and emotion that feel urgent and alive.
The follow up to Hydra, released under Alpha Pup Records, a label based in LA specialising in left field hip hop and experimental.
The connection was organic: a shared demo, a follow-up email, a shot in the dark that paid off. These moments—equal parts surreal and affirming—aren’t just career wins. They’re signs that staying true to your sound, even when unpolished, matters.
Community is at the core of Hollywood Real Thoughts’ approach. Instagram, TikTok, and Bandcamp are his homes between gigs, with subscribers getting personalized messages and high-fidelity DJ cuts. But for Hollywood Real Thoughts, nothing beats the in-person connection. “Connecting in real life at shows is the number one way,” he says. Their advice to their younger self? “Back up all your files.” It’s both a literal warning and a metaphor for the chaos of creativity—a reminder that even great ideas can vanish if not protected.
Right now, all eyes are on Human Experiments—an ambitious concept album exploring a near-future shaped by transhumanism and ecological reclamation. The project is meant to hit hard—literally—ideally through a Funktion One system, while also stirring thoughts about the direction of the planet. “I wanted this album to be all killer, no filler,” he says, and with the upcoming single Ready to Bite dropping June 27, fans will get a first taste of the album’s immersive, high-concept sound.
Looking ahead, Hollywood Real Thoughts is ready to swap the studio for the stage, eyeing a 2026 tour across Australia’s east coast. “I’m excited for the journey and the experiences ahead,” he shares, voice charged with anticipation. For now, we invite listeners to stream Ready to Bite and step into Hollywood Real Thoughts’ sonic world—a place where analog nostalgia collides with digital future. It’s ambitious. It’s heartfelt. And most of all, it’s real.
