Nakuu, born Terrell, is making serious noise in the hip-hop scene. Originally from Riverdale, Georgia, and now based in Pennsylvania, Nakuu’s journey into music began early, influenced by his musical family—his father, a founding member of the S.O.S. Band, and his mother, a singer.
Despite his passion, Nakuu faced brutal rejection in high school when classmates trashed his CDs and left hateful messages. Instead of giving up, he used the negativity to fuel his growth. This drive paid off when one of his tracks about racism went viral, amassing 17 million views on Facebook.
Nakuu’s name has dual meanings: “cry” in Asian languages for the emotional side of his music and “animal” in African languages, representing his raw intensity. Whether he’s freestyling heartfelt lyrics or hyping up crowds with energetic beats, Nakuu’s goal is simple: to make you feel. With hundreds of unreleased tracks and ambitions to work with icons like Chris Brown, Nakuu is ready to take over the scene. As he says, “The takeover is about to happen.”
