Alexander Oswald Mowbray, more commonly known as Lecky, is a talented artist with roots in both Australia and Fiji. He’s made a name for himself as a rapper, singer, songwriter, and record producer. After spending years sharing his music online for free, he launched his second studio album, “Lovers 2 Enemies,” in November 2023 under the LeckyENT label. This album received plenty of accolades and commercially succeeded, featuring hits like “Love & Lust,” “Goku,” and “Volkanovski.” In February 2024, he kept the momentum going with his third album, “Enemies 2 Lovers,” also released under LeckyENT, which has tracks like “Secrets,” “24 Hours,” and “Minute Maid.” Besides his solo endeavors, he’s part of the Melbourne hip hop crew LeckyENT.
Born on November 8, 2002, in Melbourne, Australia, Mowbray comes from a family with Fijian roots and has two siblings. Growing up in Melbourne was tough at times, especially with his dad being in prison, leading to him finding a permanent home through the Department of Human Services. He got into music early on; his brother taught him guitar, and soon enough, he was picking up various instruments. By age seven, he was already writing rap lyrics and started making beats at fourteen, leading him to drop his first single on July 4, 2020. By sixteen, he had his first song out and was busy creating more music.
Lecky’s musical influences include G-Unit, 50 Cent, and Eminem. He spent about four years honing his production skills before laying down his own raps. What’s impressive about Lecky is his ability to independently produce, mix, master, engineer, write, and perform most of his tracks. His music usually blends hip hop and R&B, showcasing a mix of rapping and singing in his songs’ choruses.
