Qliche (pronounced like cliché) is taking his creations by the throat and directing them towards outer space. The Seattle native was inspired to create music by Juice WRLD, but as he grew older and evolved as a human being, his sound did too; artists like glaive, ericdoa and brakence are now amongst his top influences.
However, he knows that to make it in the music industry, you have to stand out.
“I began to venture out to new genres and found the underground world of hyperpop,” Qliche explained. “Now that I’m starting to try new things, I’d like to fuse as much as I can to create a sound that’s familiar, yet unique.”
That’s exactly what he accomplished on his recent release, a single titled “Useless” featuring another extremely versatile artist, 4cf.
“This release was very experimental…I wanted something sad but jumpy, considering how my newer songs all are,” Qliche said. “I wanted people to feel two types of emotions at the same time.”
“Although the lyrics are sad — especially in the beginning — the beat is very jumpy and pop-ish,” he added. “I’ve been a fan of 4cf for a while now and I knew a verse from him would really turn this song up one thousand percent…he really brought the energy for his part and that’s what really influenced the beat switch.”
Hardworking, dedicated and hungry, there’s plenty in store for the Seattle native, including more singles showcasing “leftover ideas with a curated theme [he] is yet to identify” and eventually releasing an EP with a completely different sound.
“I want to keep growing and create music that people can relate to [whether they are] happy or sad,” he said. “At the very least, if I can get people to vibe out to my songs, then that’s a mission accomplished.”
Speaking of “mission accomplished,” Qliche recently graduated college with an astrophysics degree; he hopes to become the first person to release a song and music video from space.
Regardless if he does it or not, he’s still destined to be a star.
