Ceyeo is set to release his long awaited second album ‘Baby I Care’. As a listener, we are constantly pulled into new musical spaces with each subsequent track. We start out with the sounds of psychedelic and progressive rock with the songs ‘Ecstasy’ and ‘Shadow Of Blue’. ‘Ruins’ takes on a jazz-influenced ballad and is followed by ‘Impostor’, an aggressive, eerie rap-rock track. Running through all of these eclectic genre combinations is Ceyeo’s ability to allure the audience with emphatic, passionate and thought provoking lyricism.
On the new release, Ceyeo shares:
“The four little bombs that propel me forward. The four necessary poisons that keep me up at night.
The first album, “Machine Learning,” was released in the Fall of 2022. This was the Growth Album. The songs “Broken,” “Not Better“ and “U Can’t Hide” are examples of what I was going for, growth and the need for transformation, despite the obstacles in your path.
My new album, “Baby I Care,” is the Hope Album. While songs, like “Progress,” “Baby I Care,” and “Imposter,” are more personal to me, songs like “Shadow of Blue,” “Lost” and “Visualize” are written for anyone that struggles for hope in a world that oppresses based on socioeconomic, race, gender, sexuality and neurological factors. I hope this album finds you well. I hope you find this album enjoyable.”
Chicago-based Ceyeo is inspired predominantly by the artists, protest songs and poetry of the 60’s and 70’s, Ceyeo combines rock, conscious hip-hop, EDM and R&B that subverts typical expectations of modern rock music and pop conventions. The artist’s first album ‘Machine Learning’ released in 2022, and has since garnered over 2.5 million streams in over 100 countries. Their track ‘Broken’ has been used to the effect of 1.2 million views on TikTok, as well as multiple music videos seeing over 100,000 views on YouTube.
Ceyeo has gone from strength to strength across ‘Machine Learning’ and ‘Baby I Care’. The artist’s ability to be highly intricate in their compositions continues to allow them to fuse together sounds that keep fans coming back.
