Yinoluu is back with his latest offering entitled ‘Nostalgic’ featuring the single ‘Cherry Blossoms.’ His signature Lo-Fi sound is brought to the listener with influences from Afrobeat and classical music, with a wide range of instrumentation and samples being utilised. This creates the classic Lo-Fi hip-hop relaxation with an interesting expanse of compositional technique that makes the tracks far more sonically impressive than other releases in the scene. This goes to show with previous Spotify editorial support as well as over 1,000,000 streams across DSPs.
‘Cherry Blossoms’ starts gently swinging drums and a vocal sample that immediately sets the scene for your imagination to create a beautifully illustrated natural landscape. As wind, brass and string instruments set the melodies throughout the track alongside, a laid-back electric guitar glides above the synths sound effects. You can hear the thought and care that have gone into the track as a calmness descends over you.
On the new release, he says, “The album was compiled over the course of two years, allowing experiences and emotions to inform and influence the sonic directions the album grew into. Feelings and memories were bottled into each track and expressed sonically. ‘Nostalgic’ is born of a period of Nostalgia whereby feelings from the past and the comforts of the older things seemed to creep back and I decided to express these relatable emotions through sound.”
